Position Summary:

Copywriters are experienced team members who work directly below a senior copywriter or associate creative director. They create attention-grabbing, informative text that describes and promotes products and services. They may write copy for print ads, billboards, digital ads, blogs, TV, radio and social media. Copywriters are integral in the conceptualization and execution of creative executions. This position is typically held for two to three years while the copywriter matures in ability and skill. As with all creative positions, copywriters must be open to constructive feedback and must respond positively to critical input. Versatility of style, tone and voice are required, along strong sense of empathy for target audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing creative concepts that align with client business objectives
  • Studying relevant materials including research, job updates and creative briefs
  • Performing independent research to understand and communicate the nuances of a product or service
  • Identifying differentiators and unique selling propositions that aren’t immediately obvious
  • Writing, proofreading and copy editing for a variety of projects including social media, digital marketing, print advertising, collateral, video, radio and more
  • Leading and participating in brainstorms and contributing new ideas
  • Staying on top of industry trends to bring fresh content ideas to the team
  • Supervising and mentoring junior copywriters
  • Ensuring that all materials follow agency or client editorial styles
  • Thriving under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizing daily, weekly and monthly workloads to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Responding positively to constructive feedback or criticism


  • 2+ years of experience in copywriting or related field
  • Awards, internships and other achievements in related disciplines
  • Tangible creative writing skills with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in required desktop publishing tools, including MS Office
  • A strong command of the English language, including nuances of grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Effective time management skills
  • Willingness to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Understanding of marketing and writing for both traditional and digital media
  • A sharp eye for detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work
